1Your accountSigning up, sign-in codes, your name and the course finder
Sign up with your name, email, country and phone. There's no password: each time you sign in we email you a 6-digit code that works for 15 minutes.
Write your name the way you want it on your certificates. You can change it on your profile; certificates you already have keep the name they were issued with.
Right after signing up you can answer 4 quick questions in the course finder, and we'll suggest courses that fit you. You can skip it and come back any time from your dashboard or My Learning, and retake it for new suggestions.
Your dashboard is home: the course you were last on, your numbers, courses picked for you, and guides you're reading.
2Taking a courseStarting a course, lessons unlocking, breaks and leaving
Every course is free. Open a course and tap Start the course to begin.
In a course, lessons open one at a time: finish a lesson (tap Mark as done, or watch the video to the end) and the next one unlocks. In a bundle, everything is open at once.
Written lessons come as slides you can read full screen. A single video, download or link counts as a course of one part.
After 20 minutes of reading you're offered a short break, with a quick game if you'd like one. You can always skip it.
You can be on up to 5 courses at once. Finish or leave one to start another.
To leave a course, use the three dots at the top of it. Leaving deletes your progress and quiz tries on it; a course you've passed can't be left.
3Your 14 days on a courseYour days on a course, reminders, renewing and resets
Starting a course gives you 14 days to finish it and pass its quiz. Your dashboard and My Learning show how many days are left.
We email you a reminder on day 7, day 10 and day 13 if you haven't finished yet, with how far you've got and your next lesson.
If the 14 days run out, the course locks and you have 7 more days to renew it. Renewing gives you another 14 days and keeps your progress.
If you don't renew within those 7 days, the course resets: your progress is cleared and you can start it again from the first lesson.
Once you've passed a course, it stays open for good so you can look back over it.
4The final quizWhen it opens, the pass mark and what happens if you fail
Courses and bundles end with a final quiz. It opens once every lesson is done.
Each quiz has up to 50 questions drawn from the course's question bank, with the answers shuffled.
You need 75% to pass. You get 2 tries; the second asks the same questions in a new order.
After each try you see your score, not which answers were right, so the quiz stays fair for everyone.
If both tries fall short, your lesson progress on the course is cleared. Go through the lessons again and you get 2 new tries.
Reloading the page in the middle of a quiz doesn't use up a try.
5CertificatesGetting, checking, downloading and sharing them
Pass the quiz and your certificate is issued straight away, with your name, the course, your score and the date.
Each certificate has its own code and page, so anyone can check it's real at Check a certificate.
From your certificate's page you can download it as a PDF or a picture, copy its link, or add it to LinkedIn. Only you see those buttons.
All your certificates are on your profile and in My Learning.
6NotesWriting notes, the notes limit and PDF export
In any lesson, tap Notes to write down what you want to remember. Notes save as you type, and the first line shows as the title.
You can keep up to 10 notes across all your courses. Delete one you no longer need to free a place.
All your notes are on My notes (in your profile), by course and lesson, and each lesson opens again from its name.
Export your notes as a PDF, all of them or one course's, up to 3 times a day.
7Sharing what you learnTurning notes and lesson passages into pictures
Share a nugget from your notes: tap Share on a note, pick the lines, and choose a look (plum, light or night), a shape (square for a feed, tall for a story) and whether to show your first name.
Share a passage from a lesson: select some words in the lesson and tap Share as picture.
A picture holds up to 350 characters. You can share 5 new lesson passages a day; changing the look or shape of one you've already made doesn't count again.
Only the picture is shared, never the words as text, and lesson text can't be copied. That keeps our courses ours while you show what you're learning.
On a phone, Share opens your apps (WhatsApp, Instagram and so on); on a computer, the picture downloads.
8ResourcesFree guides to read alongside your courses
Resources are free guides to read alongside your courses, with your account.
The school remembers where you stopped, so you can carry on from your dashboard under Continue reading.
9Emails from usWhat we send you and how to turn reminders off
Sign-in codes, whenever you sign in. If one doesn't arrive, check your spam or promotions folder.
Course reminders on day 7, day 10 and day 13 of a course you haven't finished.
One email a week after you join, if you haven't started a course yet, with a link to the course finder.
Every reminder has a link at the bottom to turn reminders off (and back on). Sign-in codes always come.
10The app and helpGetting the app, the app tour and support
Add the school to your phone's home screen and it opens full screen with its own icon. Use Get the app in the menu or the footer.
The app tour shows you around your dashboard. Start it any time from Help: the ? button at the top of the page, or the menu on a phone. This guide is there too.
